How to Switch to Robinhood Chain

Nock Terminal Editorial Team

To switch a wallet to Robinhood Chain, open the network dropdown and choose Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663). If the network is not listed yet, add it first using Robinhood's published parameters. After switching, verify the chain ID reads 4663 and the explorer link points to https://robinhoodchain.blockscout.com before signing anything.

This guide covers the switch specifically — not the initial network add. If your wallet has never seen Robinhood Chain, follow the MetaMask add-network guide first, then come back here.

What can go wrong when switching

The most common failure is a dApp keeping the previous provider connection: the wallet is on 4663 but the dApp still thinks it is on Ethereum. Reload the page. The second most common failure is landing on the testnet by accident — always verify the chain ID reads 4663, not 46630, before signing.

Programmatic switching

dApps can request a switch via wallet_switchEthereumChain with { chainId: '0x1237' }. If the wallet has not added the network yet, that call fails with error code 4902 and the dApp should follow up with wallet_addEthereumChain. Nock Terminal's connect flow implements this pair automatically.

Steps

  1. 1
    Open the network dropdown
In MetaMask, Rabby or another EVM browser wallet, click the network selector at the top of the extension popup.
  2. 2
    Choose Robinhood Chain
Pick Robinhood Chain from the list. If it is not present, add it using the parameters at docs.robinhood.com/chain/add-network-to-wallet before returning here.
  3. 3
Verify the chain ID reads 4663
Open the network's Details or Settings view and confirm the chain ID is exactly 4663. Some tutorials list the testnet ID (46630) — this is not the same network.
  4. 4
    Reconnect the dApp
Reload the dApp and reconnect your wallet so it picks up the new network. Many dApps cache the previous chain and will show a Wrong Network warning until they detect the switch.
  5. 5
    Test with a read-only action
Before any funded transaction, open Nock Terminal or the Blockscout explorer and confirm your balance and address on chain 4663. Only then sign a transaction.

Frequently asked questions

How do I switch from Ethereum to Robinhood Chain? Open your wallet's network dropdown and choose Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663). If the network is not present, add it using the parameters from docs.robinhood.com/chain/add-network-to-wallet. Do I keep the same address after switching? Yes. EVM addresses are chain-agnostic. The same address represents different balances and history on each chain. Why does the dApp still say Wrong Network after I switched? The dApp is caching the previous provider connection. Reload the page and reconnect the wallet.
